Let me tell you about my friend Jen. Jen is a Beauty Blogger and is one of those people who pops up on your timeline and instantly brings the joy whether that’s through one of her Tik Tok videos, a full makeup tutorial, a hilarious sarcastic meme or an inspiring message we all need to hear.
Jen creates face art via beauty tutorials as a beauty guide with LimeLife… tutorials, themed looks, skincare routines, holiday themed creations, general education… You name it, she’s probably done it, and if she hasn’t she will most certainly figure out how!
Jen is someone who faces her fears, is resilient in the hard times and chooses self love over and over again. She is also is a passionate advocate. It runs clear through her work and inspires me to be a better human.
So without further ado, I’ll hand it over to Jen!

What is your title as a creator?
Oh boy ... makeup enthusiast? Makeup artist isn’t right, nor do I have proper training for that. Beauty slinger? Beauty blogger? Beauty blogger...I like that one.
What do you create?
Beauty videos on social media featuring makeup and skincare.
How did you get started?
I got started watching other beauty bloggers on social media. Soaking in as much knowledge as possible. I love watching other people create beautiful works of art on their faces whether it be super simple everyday look or a full on glam session.
How has COVID19 impacted your creative process?
It has slowed me down. My full time position in biomedical research has kept me fairly busy, which in turn leaves me drained most days and uninspired to create content.
Where do you find inspiration?
Other beauty bloggers. Nature - flowers, bodies of water, etc. Pinterest/celebrities- I love trying my hand at recreation looks. Makeup itself - sometimes an eyeshadow palette or lipstick is so beautiful that it just calls to you.
In the blog, I'm looking to talk to people who are using creativity to find healing, or to speak to creatives who are feeling really isolated.
If there's one thing you would want to say to either of those groups or want them to know, what would it be? I know it can be hard some days to find the energy to create. I get that. But, I have found for myself, that the days that I do my makeup (on social media or not), whether is a no-makeup makeup look or full glam, that I feel better. And I don’t think it’s the actual makeup... It’s the act of creating something. It’s the sense of normalcy. It’s ability share my creativity with others possible giving them a distraction and helping them. And sometimes helping others ends up helping ourselves.
